Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how getfotly.com (“Fotly”) uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage in the browser. They can remember a choice or help a partner show ads. Fotly does not need cookies to compress your photos — that work stays in the tab.
2. What Fotly uses
Necessary / functional
We use browser local storage to remember: your language choice; your compression mode preference; and whether you allowed or refused ads. These keep the site usable and remember your decision. They are not used to sell your data.
Advertising (optional)
If you tap “Allow ads”, Google AdSense may set cookies or use similar technologies to show and measure ads. This is optional. You can choose “Not now”. The compressor still works. For people in the EU/UK and similar regions, we aim to keep ads off until a proper consent flow is in place.
3. Third parties
Google (AdSense) may process data if ads are allowed — see Google’s advertising and privacy documentation. Cloudflare may set cookies needed for security and delivery of the site. get.geojs.io may see your IP briefly when suggesting a language; that is a network request, not a Fotly cookie.
4. How to manage choices
Use the consent banner on Fotly when it appears. Clear site data in your browser settings to remove local preferences. You can also block cookies in the browser, or use industry tools such as YourOnlineChoices (EU/UK) for interest-based ads. Blocking all cookies may affect ads or remembered language, but photo compression still runs in the tab.
